Does anyone know what is the best highway truck to drive, as for comfort and fuel economy.
I think it's always been a freightliner for me.
What kind of truck is the owners choice of course but no matter what it is you can do better on fuel no matter what: 8% to 12% is why our truckers are reporting. No need to throw your money away at the pump, at least no all of it.
I agree with you Geritt. After My retirement, not by choice my MS cost me this job of 32 yrs.At least I have this site to get on and read comments from other drivers and blog posts. This site has helped me get over my depression of losing my awesome job.God Bless you and be safe.
Fuel saving can and most always will begin at treating your rig like it might break if you force it to do something ie PROPER SHIFTING and right RPM's ect and not lugging your drive train when pulling grades and proper use of Jake brake aka compression braking and there is also a drivers' attiude involved in proper driving so take your pick and hopefully you might realize there are a few more one can add...
